11th Place Finish for Mike Bliss in the Supercuts Dodge
Posted: Monday, March 24th
Lebanon, TN (March 22, 2008) - The No. 22 Supercuts Dodge had another strong run this past Saturday in front of 34,500 fans at the Nashville Superspeedway. Mike Bliss started the race from outside the pole, and finished 11th in the Pepsi 300. He has moved up to 5th in driver points, maintaining his spot as the number one non-NSCS driver.
Bliss had previously made seven starts at Nashville with two top-five finishes. The Supercuts Dodge team performed well in both races last year at this track, so they knew what to do in order to run well and gain speed. They improved their performance and increased their qualifying position from 3rd last year to 2nd this year.
It was about ten degrees colder on race day than it was for practice on Friday. The wind had also changed directions. Bliss battled with a tight racecar for the majority of the race, which the crew was able to improve enough for him to be able to maneuver his way through the pack no matter what position he was in. The No. 22 Supercuts Dodge closed out the weekend with an 11th place finish.
"The Supercuts Dodge was fast this weekend," Bliss stated. "The guys did a great job as always, and I really think we could have been fighting for the win if we didn't have that little bout of bad luck. But it was a good race and I'm thankful for Supercuts giving us the chance to run it."
Fitz Motorsports currently stands 8th in owner points. The team will be on the track this week in Richmond, Virginia for NASCAR Nationwide Series testing.
