BLISS-TOL Post Race Review
Posted: Monday, March 17th

BRISTOL, TN (March 15, 2008) - When Mike Bliss heard that rain was on the way and they were already past the half-way point in the race, he put the pedal to the metal and went racin' for the win. The Supercuts Dodge raced from 12th position all the way up to 5th and was on the way to a win when the rain came pouring down and the race had to be called. The No.22 made its first top-five finish of the season at the Sharpie Mini 300.

Once again, inclement weather plagued the weekend's events, and the Nationwide series competitors hit the track only one time, for an hour-and-a-half practice session on Saturday. That one session was all it took to prove that the Supercuts Dodge was one of the fastest car on the track. If qualifying had taken place, Mike Bliss could have likely sat on the pole.

In the 171 laps that were completed, Mike Bliss in the Supercuts Dodge ranked 1st in quality passes and the fastest driver late in a run. He ranked 2nd, only to race winner Clint Boyer, in over-all fastest speeds in the race, as well as in the number of green flag passes he made during the race.

When the red flag came out because of rain, the Fitz Motorsports team hoped that the sky would clear fast enough so that the race could continue. Not that a top-five finish isn't good enough- but Bliss was on a roll and had a solid chance for a win.

"Man, I wanted to keep racing. We were on a roll- the pit stops were great and the car was fast," Bliss stated after the race. "A few times it was tough to really get going because there were so many slow cars on the track that kept getting in my way when I wanted to go. When my spotter said that rain was on the way and the race was half-way over, I just went for it. The guys did a great job today, as always, and I'm really grateful that Supercuts gave us another chance to race and go for a win. Can't wait 'till August."

Bliss is now up to 6th in the driver points standings- and the top NNS only driver- and the team has moved up to 8th in the owner points standings.

Look for Mike Bliss this Tuesday, March 18th, at 6:00 p.m. ET on ESPN's NASCAR Now. Next stop for the No. 22 Supercuts Dodge will be at the Nashville Superspeedway, where they finished 10th a year ago.
